Have you ever wanted to be able to change out and see countertop options in your kitchen? In addition, have you wanted to see what various materials might look like with your furniture and textile selections? In other words, would you like to see what the countertop options and various options might look like before you make the commitment to that large purchase? H owever, today, I’m going to share with you my comparisons and thoughts on 5 of the best interior design software applications or “apps”, as they are commonly referred to in the industry: I’ve written before about hand renderings in one of our most popular posts, here. For instance, see the hand-rendered sketch below by Toronto designer, artist, and blogger, Michelle Morela. Before we talk about the best interior design software, as many of you know, nothing online will ever compare, for me and the Hadley Court team, with the beauty and artisanship of a professionally hand-rendered sketch. The Jem and the Holograms remake is not faithful enough to the original. A humorous sendup would have been a lot more interesting, and unfortunately this version is completely humorless. I’m not saying a spoof of Jem and the Holograms was in order, but this slick production doesn’t feel at all like a loving homage, and more like a formulaic A-Star-Is-Born-meets- Hannah-Montana ripoff. The Brady Bunch Movie was presented as a spoof in which the dated and hopelessly naive Bradys have to survive in the edgy 1990s. Remember The Brady Bunch Movie? The secret sauce to its success was that it found so much humor in the process of updating the classic show. I think the Jem and the Holograms live-action movie’s biggest flaw is that it takes itself way too seriously. Together the four sisters have a garage band, but Erica is only interested in Jerrica/Jem as a solo act, leading to the story’s main conflict. Jerrica lives with her aunt Bailey (Molly Ringwald) who cares for Jerrica, Kimber, and their other two sisters, Shana (Aurora Perrineau) and Aja (Haley Kiyoko), who were adopted out of the foster care system. It’s great to see 1980s icon Molly Ringwald back on the big screen – and it’s somehow appropriate that it’s in a vehicle that got its start in the 1980s – but I hope to see her again soon in better movies. The video goes viral overnight, and Erica is foaming at the mouth to sign this mystery Internet star. The movie kicks off when garage band singer Jerrica Benton’s sister Kimber (Stefanie Scott) posts a video of Jerrica singing on Youtube as her alter ego Jem. She is an archetypal Hollywood executive on a power trip who loves to see others squirm. The one who does have fun is Juliette Lewis in the role of the selfish and shallow villain Erica Raymond, owner of Starlight Music. She’s a talented singer-actress, but unfortunately she doesn’t look like she’s having a lot of fun with the role. Each category, called a Brush Set, has a number of default brushes available for the user. For example, Sketching is one of the default Brush Sets. You can rearrange both these sets and the brushes within them by tapping and dragging them within the lists. In the example below, I tapped and held the 6B Pencil, so I can drag it wherever I would like in the list. When I customize my Procreate brushes, I often like to Create a Duplicate, so I can freely experiment but also retain the original brush. To Duplicate a Brush, swipe to the left and select Duplicate. You can also Reset a Default Brush from this menu, as well as Share or Delete, if it is a Custom Brush. You can also organize your brushes into your own Custom Set. This can be handy for things like sorting your favorite brushes, grouping imported brushes, or storing your Custom Brushes all in one place. To create a Custom Set, swipe downwards when viewing the available Sets. Tap this to create and name your new set. The move also caused Tesla’s stock prices to drop for a while. You could fake it using an effects patch, but the voice filters themselves were little more than high-frequency shelving EQs, though there was a built-in exciter to spice things up. Yet the Wavestation was not without its shortcomings, not least being the lack of filter resonance. When Sequential called it a day, some of its boffins took up residence at Korg, bringing with them the still-viable technology of the VS, supercharged and stuffed into the Wavestation's sleek black frame. It was to the latter that the Wavestation bore the keenest resemblance, sharing with it a powerful vector synthesis technique that allowed multiple oscillators to be blended over time via the use of a joystick. The Wavestation rose from the ashes of Sequential Circuits - the company behind many a classic instrument, including the Prophet-5 and the Prophet VS vector synthesiser. Other such synths of the day were pitched as preset playback devices, but this… this was different. No nylon string guitars or grand pianos here, thank you. Sure, it was packed with samples, but in its initial version, those samples tended toward innovation rather than imitation. Released in the early 90s heyday of (often generic) sample-based hardware ROMplers, it offered a decidedly distinctive sound. |
